She had the procedure last week in Bellevue and has had an excellent experience. Her first post-op appointment measured her vision between 20-15 to 20-20. She is thrilled that she does not have to deal with contacts or glasses. I was able to watch the whole procedure, and from my observations the key to success is the skill of the surgeon. I can only imagine what could happen if the surgeon made even a slight error in replacement of the corneal flap. I would highly recommend PCLI to anyone considering this procedure. We chose this facility based on the recommendation of my wife's optometrist, who has collected data on different LASIK facilities. PCLI has the highest success rate from the facilities he's reviewed.

I had LASIK surgery done July 07. The final outcome was excellent. I can actually read at 20/15 vision. No problems with darkness (that would have been a significant problem since I live where it is dark most of the winter). The stumbling block was that in the interim I was diagnosed with diabetes. Can you believe your Institute even helped with this? Right after my procedure Dr. Ford recommended I read a book titled THE CHINA STUDY. It took several months and the diabetes diagnosis to read it, but this book started me down the path of a vegan diet (plant based food). That's what I currently eat. My vision improved, plus I have full control of my blood sugars without any medication. In addition, I advise many of my patients to at least lean toward a more plant based diet. Thank you!

Before Dr. Ford corrected my vision, my contacts were -8.5 and -9.00. I felt nearly blind without correction and insecure should an emergency arise at night and I couldn't get to my glasses, even with them by my bedside. My contacts caused my eyes to become dry and red, but I still wore them all the time because my glasses had such thick lenses. Immediately after the LASIK procedure I could see clearly! It was a miracle to me. For months and months I marveled at my ability to see... something I never expected to experience in this life. My four young daughters couldn't believe "mommy" could see at night without wearing glasses and didn't need to wear contacts any longer. The precedure was painless and amazingly quick. I also very much appreciated Dr. Ford offering to pray just before he began. WOW! I never experienced that in a doctor/patient relationship. I was awed... and greatly admired and respected his open profession of faith and willingness to honor God and his patient in such a beautiful, sincere and special way. I was more impressed with the latter than even his skill as a surgeon!!

My wife and I were particularly pleased with the level of detail provided in terms of explanations throughout the process--from initial phone contact through the second day follow-up visit. Perhaps I was just lucky, but I had no discomfort during the surgery or during the past 2 months since the surgery. Imediately following my surgery my step son decided to have LASIK, but he choose a different Puget Sound area company who suggested surgery could be done for as little as $299 per eye. However, his final cost, due to this and that add-on cost, was about what PCLI charges. He didn't save any money. My wife accompanied him and after told me that while they were professional and reasonably caring, PCLI far exceeds this other company's level of care. When I mentioned that I was claustrophobic, Jalene offered me a mini tour of the facility, where I would be prior to the procedure, where my family and friends would be able to view, and where I would be. Through every phone call, every visit, the procedure and follow-up the next day, I was treated very, very well and the results so far have been great! Prior to the procedure, Dr. Shenk introduced himself to each person in the room and asked each of us individually if we had any questions. I've had a lot of fears about corrective surgery to my eyes. My dad is an optometrist so I grew up with a great appreciation for vision and eye health. He told me, "If you decide to have LASIK, don't take a risk--go to PCLI. They're the best." PCLI is the only company my dad will entrust with the care of his patients. The doctors and staff at PCLI were amazing. Even though I knew a lot about the procedure, I was still nervous. What if something went wrong? They were wonderful about answering all my questions. The office was warm and welcoming. You get a feeling of family when you walk in. The procedure went perfectly. The next day I was seeing 20/15 in both eyes. I've since had fun telling people I'm better than perfect and now I have documentation! The most difficult thing about the entire experience was having to sleep on my back the first night. I had no pain, very minor irritation and was light sensitive the first day. Now 2 weeks after I feel like I didn't even have a procedure. No adverse side effects at all and my vision is perfect--even at night. I wholeheartedly recommend PCLI to anyone considering LASIK or any other eye surgery. Don't take chances with your vision. I had LASIK at PCLI in Anchorage last August and love my distance vision. I live in Valdez and I can see the mountains. The exciting part of my story is that we just gave our daughter a college graduation gift to tell her how proud we are of her (highest honors!). She had surgery Tuesday in Anchorage. By evening when we were shopping she ran up to me and said, "Mom! I can see really well!" She has been in 7th heaven ever since, with 20/15 vision already!
